What is cataract?

Cataract is a layer that forms on the eye lens, over the course of years. It is specially seen in people above 40 years of age. 

Types of cataract- 

1. Cortical Cataract.

2. Sclerotic Cataract.

3. Posterior Subcapsular Cataract.

Removal of cataract-

The only way to treat cataract is to carry out cataract surgery. It is a procedure to remove the damaged lens and replace it with an artificial lens for better visibility. It may take several weeks after the operation to recover fully.
