What is anal fissure?

Anal fissure is a tear in the anal opening/lining, which may show painful signs and extend deep inside the anus.

Causes of anal fissure-

The main cause of anal fissure is chronic constipation. Apart from constipation, ulcers and irregular bowel functions may also cause anal fissure. If not treated on time, it may cause anal cancer as well.

Symptoms-

1. Bleeding through the anus.

2. Sharp pain while passing stool.

3. Itchiness in the anal opening.

4. Cracked skin area around the anus.
